WHAT DO WE DO AT AFTERMIRTH?

Dad-with-Baby.png

Because just because you’ve had a baby it shouldn’t mean you don’t get to experience the arts anymore. Sometimes you don’t want to be in crappy venues with the only exciting thing being a custard crème and a lukewarm cup of tea. I’ve sourced some nice venues so mums and dads can have a night out but during the day. I encourage parents to have a beer and kick back. Monday afternoons are the new Saturday night.

AFTERMIRTH brings you 4 top quality comedians during the day. You can bring your baby and no one minds if they cry, poop or have an existential crisis...

We’re there for you to have fun, just for 90 mins though, then it’s back home for a nap.

Review of Aftermirth at Bristol Old Vic

Read full review here: Aftermirth: Daytime Comedy Club for Parents at Bristol Old Vic

It’s an unusual sight to see so many babes in arms in the 1766 Bar and Kitchen at the Bristol Old Vic. But here they collect, as the person cradling them has a coffee and a natter before Angie Belcher’s brand new daytime comedy club for parents, Aftermirth. This clever invention is especially for adults of those little humans who can’t yet speak and are therefore unable to be influenced or offended by any bad language that may spout from the mouths of our funny MC and her three guest comedians at the Weston Studio.

A selection of our comedians…

Such a wonderful vehicle of escapism exclusive for those who definitely benefit the most! It’s hard to mix with other adults outside baby groups, as a new Mum, but aftermirth invites parents to bring their adorable, noisy, hungry offspring and enjoy adult humour to brighten up a usually mundane, routine filled Monday Morning! Thank you!

Great fun, such a brilliant way to spend an afternoon

Really enjoyed this daytime comedy club, friendly and wonderfully helpful staff, a bargain and some good laughs too. Lovely to find events focused at mums but revolving around babies and our need for cake! Look forward to next one x

Sooo much fun. A really good show and my 10 month old loved it! She even invaded the stage at one point! Lots of laughs. Thanks guys x

So much fun, worth having a second baby so we could come!

As a parent with a newborn & a 4 year old I really appreciate having something I can take my baby too that is fun for me! As a second time mum I appreciate even more how hard it is to get out at night or have ‘me time’!

AfterMirth comedy was perfect! The babies were happy, I got to socialise with other mums, great comedy, lots of laughs & yummy nachos! Just what we needed.

Monday lunchtime is the new Saturday night!
